Tiesto LIVE-Polyvalent Hall,Bucharest-20 october 2006

ENG: It’s 11:20. I’m in Bucharest,waiting at the entrance of Polyvalent Hall. Even if it’s almost 12 and a half p.m.,there is still a big queue. I’m waving my PRESS card in the air,in front of gardians from Security zone. I have to show them everything which is in my bag,including even the filters,from my photocamera. After this checkpoint,I’m just “able bodied” for the electric night which will make thousands of people just dancing over and over again…
The people around,the fantasy of DJ Vania’s warm-up,from the big stage in front of us,presented to us in a new concept of lights and sound,had been announcing a great night over Bucharest. The colour diversity from lights,the accuracy of sound,was making you just stay still,in front of this show; you were just a part of the atmosphere around… The first sensation,in every field,is a great one! There,I was having just one feeling,I was almost flying on my way to view for the first time the floodslights,having a great set on the stage.
It’s 12 p.m a clock. I’m almost done with the photographs,taken from each corner of the hall. Personally,this time, I’m not at an ordinary shouting session,it’s a soulful one, which I guess will live forever in my mind,it’s a part of my life… I was looking around in the huge room,and the people around were coming down,crowding in front of DJ’s desk. “ Will be a great night”, I said to myself,while I was drinking a fresh Orange juice.
The time is passing by,it’s 12:45 p.m. It was obviously the moment when all fridges lights turn off,just a sign of the big guest approaching and a long route for me,in my tentative to arrive in the front row. And here I am ,installing again the camera’s tripod,waving again my PRESS Card,for a better moving space around.
It’s almost 01 a.m. I’m enjoying myself a little bit,I’m really in the first row! Wait! In the background,I saw a movemement. It was a fact ,I had been dreaming of this moment all my life. Vania was turning around,while a guy was making a last check around the “buttons”. The light were turning off again,and people behind me wxploded in inly one exclamation: TIESTOOOOOOOOO,TIESTOOOOOOOOOOOO.. The lighthoods are playing right now an interesting role:they are making a great atmosphere blinking all around. After this they are turning off and on,over and over again,and the crowd is going mad… You can read on people faces just happiness and an exited waiting…
In the backstage the over anxiety was stoped by something! But LOOK,there is a well-known face right there! The crowd from my back is jumping,the raised-up hands are hanging above me,and it is time when ,trying to take care of my camera,I get a lot of elbows from people around! And there it is! Tiesto is saluting all the public! I can’t have a look behind,to see all Polyvalent Hall chain reaction,but I;m sure that everyone even it is just from curiosity,is trying to retain in the deep of soul,this magic moment. “ Dance4LIFE” is the first night track. Is just madness around; I wish I could jump and dance ,like the rest of the people,but I’ll have to take first some photographs! There is no limit around,one and all are united under one only MOVEMENT and one only word,forever TRANCE!
Alll I can do is shout ever and over again! And it’s not enough! I’m enjoying Tiesto’s mix,more through the camera;s viewfinder! Every now and then,I can take a short look at him,the man who has written a new magical history,nowdays! Multimedia session was ended soon,I couldn’t take any more of the crowding from the first row. I look again to the great DJ in front of us, I realize it’s going to take a while until I’ll see Tiesto again so close. The TV screens and monitors barriers were hiding away,there was no IT WAS or WILL BE,just NOW!! A great night, a huge DJ,just LIVE!
I’m taking a seat,in the right corner of the hall, I’m finally away from the madness! A deep rest,and an enjoyable peace! I remembered then,another feeling,from last summer.. We were on a traditional dat spent at Costinesti resort,of the Black Sea. Every year we’re going there for the beach,for the youth around,and for the biggest Dico from Romania,Disco Tineretului(Youth Disco). Every single time,you find there many people,and the wind is breezing a great atmosphere around. That July night,Funky Dj put us one of the legendary tiesto’
S track, “ Love comes again”. People around me were dancing and I was staring at DJ’s desk,thinking out “How would be if Tiesto personally would be here?!” I was dreaming on.. But LOOK,sooner than I could imagine,Tiesto was in front of my eyes! Should I say a prayer? I can’t sit any more on my seat…
We enjoyed ourselves a lot,at this another “The Mission” event,which was the best one,considering the structure,I mean lights and sound first. The energy of TRANCE concept,had felt a lot in public,Tiesto was amazing,and was presenting us a dynamic set,which can be compared with Paul van Dyk’s one,from 29 of September. Tiesto’s set included some of his latest recorded tracks,from “In Search od Sunrise 5” album,and some older ones. We talk about tracks which made Tiesto;s name,one of the most well-known names,in the current trance world. One of these,was “Adagio for strings”,track during which tiesto was saluting the people around for the last time… Was 04:14 a.m. when Polyvalent Hall was blowing up again maybe for the last time in this year…
Lost with my view in thousands of people and litter as well,I’m assembling my gear and I’m moving toward the EXIT. I’m turning back again,it is my turn to salute the huge hall which has been a kind of Roumanian Trance Temple in the latest weeks… Outside it is quite cold. It’s mist around Youth Central Park of Bucharest,but deep blu sky above. I can see the stars.. It’s 06:12 a.m., I’m falling asleep just with one ideea: “Why didn’t we had the chance to listen “ Traffic” It should been on the set… Why?... Maybe Tijs is already sleeping.. Tomorrow,he will be in Holand…HOLAND! State of Trance.. Hmmm.. Armin van Buuren… What a life….

RO:Imi fac cu greu loc prin randurile de oameni,ce inca mai formeaza o coloana bunicica la intrare,desii este ora 23;20. Flutur legitimatia de presa prin fatza gardienilor insarcinati cu controlul fiecarei persoane,fara a fi privit cu mai putina suspiciune:trebuie sa desfac geanta,sa rascolesc intreg ghiozdanul si in fine sa arat pana si buzunarul stik-urilor de memorie. Si uite asa sunt declarat “apt” pentru seara electrica ce avea sa puna in miscare masele de oameni…
Locurile ce se umpleau vazand cu ochii,warm-up-ul celor 3, (Dj Livio ,Roby ,George G), ce ocupau locurile de pe scena prezentata publicului intr-o noua forma de iluminare,anuntau o seara magnifica peste Bucuresti.Diversificate si imbunatatite,sonorizarea si luminile pur si simplu te tintuiau locului,cel putin prima data cand dadeai ochii cu ele… Prima senzatie e un sentiment extraordinar,in orice domeniu.Asa si eu,simteam ca zbor in timp ce strabateam grabit holul arhiplin al Polivalentei,si intalneam pentru prima data un jocul de culoare al reflectoarelor din fatza!
Ora 24:00-Nu am stat degeaba,cadre si cadre, din cat mai multe unghiuri,nu fac decat sa sporeasca valuarea chiar sentimentala ce-o are si o va mai avea mult timp de acum inainte noaptea de 20.Acum este totodata si vremea lui Vania sa intre la butoane;asta cheama lumea jos si incinge si mai tare atmosfera… Observ toate acestea ,din tribune,unde ma racoresc linistit la un pahar de Cappy,fericit ca am terminat prima sesiune foto. Ora 24;45! Am ochit de mult momentul in care luminile frigorificelor s-au stins,pentru cunoscatori e semn ca marele asteptat e pe aproape.Ma uit cu groaza la cat de mult am de parcurs pana in primle randuri.Montez aparatul foto pe trepied,scot legitimatia la vedere sa am ..o scuza pentru ca voi deranja multa lume pana in fatza.
Ora 24:58 Ma bucur cu-adevarat ca sunt in primul rand.In timp ce setez comenzile aparatului,mai trag cate un ochi spre culise,de unde se vede orice miscare. Faptul ca Vania se tot intoarce in spate,faptul ca un tip din regia tehnica vine sa verifice inca o data mufaraia,si din nou o serie de lumini se stinge,face publicul din spatele meu sa explodeze in urale continue:”Tiestooooooo,Tiestoooooo”.Reflectoarele joaca acum rolu mult asteptat:se aprind si se sting alternativ,dezvaluind pantru cateva momente o mare de oameni cu mainile ridicate,ca apoi totul sa devina o lumina difuza si apoi iar se aprind,si din nou se sting,si tensiunea creste,si creste…E de-ajuns cat sa observi de la distanta, adevarata bucurie ce se poate citi pe fetzele oamenilor…
In culise agitatia se curma deodata,cu aparitia unei figuri cunoscute,prea cunoscute… Multimea incepe sa sara in spatele meu,primesc coate la greu in timp ce incerc cum pot sa menajez aparatul foto! Figura lui Tiesto,deslusita cu greu,undeva in intunericul de dupa scena,aduc oamenii in pragul delirului… Si iata-l! Da mana cu Vania,saluta bucuros publicul in timp ce seteaza “comenzile” in stilul caracteristic.Nu pot sa ma uit in spate sa vad reactia intregii sali,dar stiu ca cel putin din curiozitate fiecare soarbe pentru sine insusi, privelistea prezenta…Nu vezi in fiecare zi asa ceva...”Dance4life”,este piesa pe care artistul olandez isi incepe setul…E curate nebunie!!!.As vrea sa sar,sa ma misc,sa urlu de bucurie,la fel ca restul multimii.Aici nu e loc de individualism:toti sunt una,domina mereu acelasi cuvant,sub numele caruia si acesta defasurare,Forever TRANCE.
Tot ceea ce pot si imi doresc sa fac,sunt cat mai multe cadre si filmari.Il savurez pe Tiesto mai mult prin Viewfinderul aparatului foto;din cand in cand mai arunc un ochi spre pupitru.Nu imi vine sa cred cu ce imi storc mintea:”Paul vn Dyk sau Tiesto?! Which one is the best?” Intrebarea intrebatoare se risipeste repede JAm terminat seria multimedia,mi-am terminat si sesiunea de pumni incasati in coaste(involuntar ce-i drept), si e timpul sa ma retrag din primul rand.Ma mai intorc o data spre Tiesto,stiu ca in primul rand nu voi mai ajunge noaptea asta.Cat de natural arata....Bariera ecranelor si monitoarelor a fost data la o parte! Feelingul de LIVE domina,videoclipurile si mixurile din casti au fost uitate…Nu exista “era” sau “va fi”,domina numai prezentul si asta inseamna ACUM! E de-a dreptul fasninanta comparatia unui set Live, pe care il ai in fatza ochilor, cu monitorul de acasa,fie el flat sau de 1000 de inci…
Ma asez in sala,de-acum am putin loc in jurul meu,e de-a dreptul minunat.Ma pierd curand in jocul de lumini din fatza si gandul zboara….Nu pot sa nu imi aduc aminte de vara trecuta.Eram ca de obicei pentruo zi in Costinesti.Si asta pentru plaja,pentru tineret,si pentru seara deja devenita traditie,seara din Disco Tineretului.Multa lume,briza,deh…o altfel de fascinatie… In seara acea de iulie,Funky DJ a incarcat publicul cu energie cu o piesa venita perfect in context:”Love comes again”. Tin minte si acum ca ma uitam pierdut peste aceiasi multime plina de euforie,spre scena unde Geo da Silva facea ce-i place cel mai mult:sa puna lumea in miscare.Ei si imi imaginam,visitor,poate pueril,cum ar fi fost atmosfera daca la pupitru s-ar fi aflat Tiesto in persoana… Si and devenea mai frumos,visul se spulbera o data cu intrebarea “Pana unde va trebui sa merg sa-l prind intr-adevar la platane?Pana’n L.A,sau poate doar pana’n Amsterdam?! Si IATA! Mai repede si nesperat,Tiesto era in fatza ochilor.Ceva nu ma mai lasa sa mai stau pe scaun…



Ne-am bucurat impreuna de inca un eveniment TheMission,din punct de vedere al organizarii,poate cel mai bun.Energia conceptului Trance,s-a simtit in public,Tiesto a fost la inaltime,a prezentat un set dinamic care semana mult la un moment dat cu cel a lui van Dyk de acum apoape o luna de zile… Setul a continut cu cateva piese de pe ultimul album,”In search of Sunrise 5”,plus cateva mai vechi ,ca apoi marele DJ sa-si faca iesirea pe una din piesele care l-au consacrat de-a lungul timpului,“Adagio for Strings”.A salutat publicul cu zambetul caracteristic iar la ora 04:14, Polivalenta a sarit in aer poate ultima data in acest an…
Pierdut cu privirea printre miile de gunoaie de jos,imi strang aparatura,si pornesc spre metrou.Ma mai intorc o data,si salut cu privirea Sala ce in ultima luna,a constituit un Templu al Trance-ului din Romania.Racoarea de afara ma face sa dardai.E ceata Peste Parcul Tineretului si cer senin afara…In ciuda cozii de la gura de metrou,il prindem totusi pe primul. E exact…06:12,adorm cu un singur gand”Si totusi n-am ascultat Traffic…Mi-ar fi placut sa-l aud…cu siguranta si celorlalti…...probabil Tiesto doarme deja….maine seara va fi in Amsterdam….ce viata!...............................”
